Borås Puts on a Great Performance for a Full House

Borås wins Friday night game against Jämtland 90 to 83

Borås Basket took home the win in front of a full arena of people on Friday, March 7.  The organization was hosting a free admission game for fans at Boråshallen and with 2113 people, it was a great turnout.  148 sponsors from around Borås agreed to donate 1 kronor per spectator and the proceeds went to the club. The team really worked well together in this run and gun game.  The first quarter was kicked off to a good start with Borås controlling the lead early on.  Chris Anrin and Michael Kingma definitely had a great game. Chris Anrin, who is usually an outside shooter, was driving to the basket and had 6 points in the first 4 minutes of play.  Michael Kingma, as always, had a great inside game and took down 12 rebounds in total. Both players had 19 points and shot over 50% from the field.  Dennis Spring did not go unnoticed with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Although Borås exuded great energy and an aggressive attitude, Jämtland quickly caught up to them, and the quarter ended Borås 21 to 19 Jämtland.
Timothy Whitworth of Jämtland began to carry his team in the second quarter, totaling 31 points in the match.  In this quarter he banked 4 3´s alone.  Borås seemed to be leaving many of their opponents out on the wings, unguarded to shoot 3´s.  The second quarter was really tight, but in the end Jämtland took back the lead.
Tim Whitworth seemed to be unstoppable in the third quarter with 25 points and 5 minutes left on the clock.  Borås appeared to have lost their energy which often happens to them in the third quarter.  Both Jonas Larsson and Henrik Carlsson found themselves in foul trouble with 3 and 4 fouls respectively.  Tim Håkansson, who hasn´t seen much playing time this season made an appearance and had 5 points in his 10 minutes of play.
In the fourth quarter Springs scored a few ´´and 1´s´´ with his efficient up-and-under layups.  Jonas Larsson had a great shooting game with 4 3´s at 66.7%.  With 5 minutes left, Anrin sunk a 3 and brought Borås up to a 7 point lead, followed by yet another 3 point shot by Larsson.  With 3 minutes left on the clock Borås was only up by 2 points.  Springs drove to the basket scoring a 2 point shot and Jamtland then attempted a three but the ball was deflected into the hands of Anrin.  Henrik Carlsson got the ball and put up a 3 which solidified Borås´ victory with a 9 point lead and 25 seconds to go.  Håkansson ended the game with a beautiful dunk which the crowd went wild for and Borås won a hard earned game 90 to 83.
